What you can expect in a typical day:

The Whitegate Supply Manager has leadership and management responsibility for the Whitegate Supply Management Team and for the purchasing and contracting activities of Whitegate Refinery, ensuring that the required goods and services are sourced in a timely manner while maintaining quality, cost effectiveness and appropriate risk management.

The WG Supply Manager is required to operate in compliance with company, functional and local policies and processes and to apply required internal controls.

The WG Supply Manager provides Functional and HSE leadership to the WG Supply Management Team and defines and evaluates departmental and individual goals to work toward Business Unit objectives and Supply Management organizational goals.

This role will be based at Whitegate Refinery. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct all activities performed by the Whitegate Supply Management team including sourcing, contracting, buying, soliciting and analyzing quotes and tenders, commercial negotiations, delivery and storage of materials if required, and other tasks related to the acquisition of goods and services.
  • Develop and effectively manage relationship with key suppliers; manage escalations on behalf of Vendors and Stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong networks within the Whitegate Business to fully understand business drivers, plans and priorities and their impact on material and service requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong linkages with the Supply Management organization to fully understand and implement functional initiatives, particularly in respect of strategic sourcing, in order to drive superior results for the Business.
  • Ensure that the Whitegate Supply Management function operates in accordance with all applicable Irving and Supply Management policies and procedures and apply all required internal controls.

  • 10+ years’ experience of
  • Sourcing and Contracting in a commercial environment.
  • Commercially managing rated and fixed price contracts, account settlements etc.
  • Contract drafting and negotiation of contract terms.
  • Experience in the Engineering/Oil & Gas sector is an advantage.
  • 5+ years’ experience in leadership positions with increasing experience of accountability and responsibility.
